This is Osbert. Osbert Shell-E. He's a recent addition to our household. We think he was a delinquent of some kind, 'cause mom found him hangin' around on a street corner and up to no good! He could be a She for all we know, in which case, her name would be Osberta and we could call her 'Berta for short..except she doesn't look the type to let you call her anything "for short". Anyway, mom brought him home and put him in our backyard, where we have lots of snails (sorry, Miss Daisy and Snail) for him to eat. Bein' as I had a new neighbor, I thought to pay him a visit.
'Morning, Honey.

19 Folks I LOVE To Hear From!:
We like some small land turtles. But ya dont wanna be bit by one EFER!
Oah My Angus~!
I have a turtle friend as well, she is also very big.
But she is not friendly at all...
So....be careful with your friend.
Hmm, he does seem a little bit mean. I never knew turtles eated SNAILS! They seem a little too crunchy to eat. Or does he leave the shells behind?
Osbert is a pretty handsome fellow (gal?) but I guess not the best playmate for you, Angus?
We have lots and lots of Turtles at The Swamp and we have never found a single one who would be willing to play with us, Angus.
What's that big blue thing?
Wow, he is a Mr. Grumpypants. Maybe you were right, he hadn't had his coffee yet...
Maybe that's snail for "You look great this morning Angus?"
Nice to meet you Osbert! I like that name, its fun!
We found this link-- How to tell if a turtle is male or female.
Its kind of hard to tell when you don't have a turtle to look at- but we thought you might find it fun!
That's a strange thing to find on the street corner. Could it be somebody's pet, or do you get those things roaming wild in the US?
Purrs, Sukie x
Yeah, I hear those guys have nasty teeth. You wouldn't want to get bit by one of those. I am sure you can move faster than he can, but be careful.
It is so much fun for me to see you hiding in your garden and having fun.
Perhaps Mr Snail cud teach yer turtle manners? Daisy did show him how to has manners.
Sometimes a turtle will decide to come out of the pond across the street and cross over. Mom will pick them up & put them back on the pond side. But she learned you have to pick them up with their back pointing away from you, 'cause they'll shoot a stream of pee at you in self defense
Osbert doesn't really seem to be a morning turtle. Maybe he din't haf his coffee but we're thinking dat even wif coffee he wouldn't be happy.
I'm not sure that turtle wants to be friends. Turtles are hard to read.
Wow, that is quite an assortment of aminals at your house, Angus. You are such a welcoming sort. I don't think I would like anyone other than Lucky.
Roxy
Your mom is really nice to pick up a delinquent turtle and give it a home. I bet he plays the most lame game of thundering herd of elephants ever. In that last picture, I'm pretty sure that is his happy face.
Wow, we can't believe he hissed at you. That was very rude of him. Especially when you were just trying to say "Hi."
Tiki, Tavi, Cody, Camie and Miss Jade
My! So that's the kind of things that hang out on street corners. We live across from a park with a pond & stream in it. I wonder if there are any of those things in my pond. Too bad Mom won't let me go over and take a look.
