Since last we met, Mom's moved our Stinky Goodness feeding spot into the Laundry Room onto the counter. Sure, and she was convinced I'd stop jumpin' up on the kitchen counter without canned food as a motivator. Hah! I've discovered I enjoy the unique perspective afforded by the countertop. I can look her right in the eye and send messages more quickly. From the floor, they only make it as far as her kneecap, which doesn't get me Stinky Goodness any faster. I can also get a clear view at the Betta Fish Digory a-swimmin' 'round in his glass column. I've yet to sink a hook(ed claw), but, since he's confined in there, I'll take my time and enjoy the view, eh?An Efficient Use of Space

I agree, the view is much better from the worktops. We are not allowed up there but I don't let that stop me.

huh, that must be our prollem - our messages are only going to the mom's kneecaps.
We're not allowed up on our counter, either. Granted, it's a TINY space filled with the mom's stuff, so there's not much room for us. But still...it's the principle of it.

My people figured out early on that cats get on counters no matter what, especially if they're not looking. So they just use lots bleach.
Lucky you - we aren't even allowed to put our paws on the edge of the countertop, never mind get up there. Cats have it made.

We have always been fed on the kitchen counter! We love it! We don't have much counter space, and ants get in our food when it is on the floor, despite the little traps for them, so we get the counter!

We get few rules, but the biggest is that we shall not get up on the kitchen counters. The next biggest is that we may not eat off of plates on tables.
We accept that, though Iza is a bit persistent about sniffing at meat on plates on tables. She gets her head tapped often.
If it has legs an chairs its a table, we are allowed up but cannot eat; our food is allus on the floor. If it has no legs or chairs, it is a countertop and we are not allowed up. Its tricky sometimes.
Oh, BTW, we got to Bettas also. But the covers have tiny openings too small fer a paw.
